Operations
At Vedanta Nico, our operations are strategically anchored in our state-of-art plant in Cuncolim, Goa, with an installed capacity of 7 KTPA. In response to the surging demand Nickel driven by the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) battery markets, we are committed to scaling up our production capabilities
To meet this demand, we have outlined a two-phase capacity enhancement plan:

Phase 1
We are currently engaged in debottlenecking our existing plant in Goa to elevate its capacity to 10 KTPA. This phase includes the implementation of advanced plant automation, modernization, and optimized asset utilization.

Phase 2
Our future expansion involves the establishment of a new, state-of-the-art Nickel plant, reinforcing our commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and contributing to the Make in India initiative. This expansion aligns with our Chairman Mr. Anil Agarwal's vision of addressing national needs and bolstering domestic supply.

Message from CEO
The Year in Brief
The Nickel market in India is influenced by sectors such as stainless steel and electroplating, with Nickel also being a crucial component in electric vehicles. The domestic market for Nickel metal stands at 44 KTPA, with Nickel sulphate at 2 KTPA. We anticipate a market growth rate of 4.7% CAGR. Currently, our market share for Nickel metal is approximately 7.5%, while we have captured 35% of the total Nickel sulphate market. Our Nickel sulphate is also exported to prominent EV battery manufacturers in South Korea, Japan, and China, supported by a long-term export contract with a South Korean EV battery manufacturer.
